First Congratulations! Being engaged and starting the dress shopping experience is so fun. No matter your wedding timeline we have many beautiful options for you. We have two ways of shopping for your dress: the first is special orders and the second is purchasing out of the collection.
For Special Orders the ideal time to start shopping is 8-12 months before your wedding. When dress shopping the gowns you try on are sample gowns. Once you find “the one” and say “Yes!” We then special order your gown from the designer in your ideal size and color preference. All of our gowns are hand crafted and made to order, they can take anywhere from 3-8 months to be made. Then you want to budget 6-12 weeks for alterations once you have your dress.
If your wedding is sooner than 12 months away we shop out of the collection. At Desert Rose we keep a large collection of all styles in all sizes. When shopping out of the collection we keep to trying on dresses in your ideal size range and color. Gowns can be altered to your size and customized with our amazing referral seamstresses. Our stylists are highly trained in knowing what alterations are possible and what can be done to your gown to make it perfect for your day.
We are happy to accommodate walk-ins when we have the availability. We are a small shop and do fill up quickly so we recommend scheduling an appointment to guarantee you get to see and try on our collection at your preferred time.
Our appointments are set for 90 minutes. Please plan your schedule to make sure you and your group can arrive on time and stay for the full length of your appointment. The magic of finding your dress can happen at any time and we don't want any of your important people to miss it.
To help with the fit of the gowns a stylist will be in the dressing room with you. Most of our gowns have corsets and bras built in so you will not need to wear your own. Underwear is required while trying on dresses. We do recommend that they are nude or white in color as to not show through the dresses. Feel free to wear Spanks if you would like, they make a great foundation for the dresses.
Our sample gowns range from bridal size 4-26. Bridal sizing does run about 2 sizes small compared to our regular street sizing meaning a bridal 4 fits closer to a street size 0. We have dresses of all styles in every size range. If there is a dress you love that is not in your ideal size we always have creative ways for you to see the dress on your frame and have a good idea of what it will look like when it's your size.
Our collection starts at about $1500 and ranges up to $7000, with the majority of our collection ranging between $1800-$2600. However, if your budget does not work within this price point we do like to make magic happen and we have a small collection of sample gowns that can be sold off the rack for a discount. We also do Sample Sales a few times a year that include a large portion of our collection that is discounted for dream prices.
We do not charge for appointments or cancellations of any kind. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment we do consider it a show and do require that your appointment is rescheduled.
We are so excited that you are passionate about one of our dresses. Thank you for loving them, we love them too! Because we sell out of the collection so often our inventory is in constant flux. You may see something as a “new arrival” on our instagram one day and it is sold the next. To guarantee that you can try and have the dress you love please call or text us before you come in for your appointment and we will do everything we can to have the dress you love here for you. If we have to request the gown from the designer or our other location this can come with a small fee to cover shipping. As always we recommend giving yourself as much time as possible (6-8 months) in the shopping process to give yourself as many options as possible.
